Owner Lisa Tomaselli is a seasoned matchmaker when it comes to pairing horse and rider. She relies on decades of experience and professional relationships to procure trusted equine partners, rather than Facebook advertisements. Safety and suitability are paramount.
Stony Lane has successfully trained countless junior riders from the Short Stirrup, on up through the 3’6” to compete and ribbon at Junior Hunter Finals, New England Equitation Finals, ASPCA Maclay Finals, and USEF Medal Finals, among others. Our riders have gone on to ride on collegiate IHSA and NCEA teams, and some have pursued professional equestrian careers.
We have a wonderful group of adult amateurs, some lifelong equestrians, some adult re-riders, and some are parents of junior riders at Stony Lane. We understand the challenge of balancing barn time with work and family. One of the many benefits of being stabled at Old Salem Farm, is the opportunity to go from the stall, to show ring, on any given weekend throughout the year—minimizing time away from home.
Stony Lane also develops an annual show schedule based on client goals that has included events such as World Equestrian Center (WEC Ohio, WEC Ocala), Wellington International, HITS (Saugerties, Ocala, Vermont), Fieldstone Show Park, Lake Placid, Split Rock Show Jumping, Devon Horse Show, National Horse Show, Capital Challenge, Harrisburg, Old Salem Farm, Princeton Show Jumping, New England Finals, Marshall & Sterling Finals, Connecticut Hunter Jumper Finals, Fairfield June Benefit Show.
In the winter, Stony Lane clients have the opportunity to compete in Florida, based on demand. In past years, Stony Lane has traveled to WEC Ohio, and enjoyed the facility as an alternative to Florida. We are always open to suggestions.
