Lisa Tomaselli, Head of High Fives

Lisa is a lifelong equestrian. Her passion for horses began at age five, when she began taking lessons locally in her home state of New Jersey. As a junior, she rode with Eamonn Hughes at Drumnacross Farm, and continued riding throughout college in the Open Division at Virginia Tech, from which she holds bachelor’s degrees in animal and poultry science, and biology.

After turning professional, Lisa taught and rode under the tutelage of Simonetta Meisels at Sleepy Hollow Country Club, and also became the head coach of Pace University’s IHSA Team. Lisa went on to become program director at New Canaan Mounted Troop, and also head coach of Fairfield University.

In 2011, she founded Stony Lane with the goal of creating a safe, fun and professional environment in which riders of all levels can achieve success. Her expansive riding and coaching experience, combined with her long-standing professional relationships, allow her to source top quality horses and care for clients. Lisa takes pride in carefully matching horse and rider, with a strong priority on suitability and soundness.

Over the past decade, Lisa has taught countless junior and amateur clients, helping them to qualify and ribbon at local, regional and national championships, including Dover USEF Medal Finals, ASPCA Maclay Finals Finals, USEF Junior Hunter Finals East, The League Marshall & Sterling Finals, USHJA EMO Jumpseat 3’3” Finals, Gladstone Cup, Connecticut Hunter Jumper Finals (CHJA).

Lisa is a USHJA Certified Instructor, and currently working on her Hunter and Hunter Seat Equitation and Jumper judging cards. Her daughters, Madeline and Eleanor, are both avid riders, and enjoy spending their free time at the barn!

“I particularly enjoy teaching kids because they have a sponge-like ability to learn, grow, and adapt as a rider, and just enjoy those beautiful moments of success, fun, and new experiences.”

Robyn Musicant, Miracle Worker

Robyn Musicant is an assistant trainer at Stony Lane. She became obsessed with horses at an early age, when her father took her and her brother for a pony ride on two mares who looked like twins, named Laverne and Shirley.

Since that early introduction to horses, Robyn has made it a life’s goal to keep them in her life. After attending Virginia Intermont University, where she competed on the IHSA Team in the Open Division.

After college, Robyn groomed for professionals on the West Coast before moving back East to pursue her passion: teaching the next generation of our sport. Robyn enjoys helping children build self-confidence, enjoy a sense of accomplishment, learn compassion and respect for animals, and ideally, grow to appreciate a lifelong love of horses.

When Robyn isn’t teaching, she enjoys spending time in Bedford, NY at her friends’ private barn, where she cares for Henry, Brooklyn and California. She loves to trail ride along the BRLA, which runs behind the property.

In her free time, Robyn also narrates and produces audiobooks, and is a talented baker, perhaps best known for her signature artisan bread. At Stony Lane, you’ll get to taste a loaf right out of the oven with butter, as she always shares with her barn family.
